The world’s first Japanese-style shabu-shabu restaurant with a Hello Kitty theme officially began its trial operation on July 7. Ever since the news that Hello Kitty Shabu-Shabu would open in Taipei’s East District starting March, fans have been eagerly anticipating it, making it a hot topic. Reservations opened to consumers on July 1, and online bookings have already been filled up until September, while phone reservations are also fully booked during peak hours on both weekdays and weekends. Currently, there are still available slots during non-peak dining hours—fans eager for a taste should act fast.

Hello Kitty Shabu-Shabu is filled with thoughtful touches where the owners have incorporated Kitty elements throughout the space. Right at the entrance, you’ll find an adorable Hello Kitty figurine holding a hotpot to welcome guests, and stepping inside, you’ll discover the interior decorated with a lot of wooden materials. Look up and you’ll see butterfly-shaped lamps, Kitty murals, and other whimsical decorations spread all over the space. In addition to regular seating, there is also a Japanese-style private room that creates a full-on traditional Japanese atmosphere, offering a strong taste of Japan.
