Summer vacation calls for indulging in ice-cold treats to beat the heat. Donut brands Krispy Kreme and Mister Donut have both launched summer-themed new products—featuring creations that combine donuts and ice cream for multi-layered textures, such as Krispy Kreme’s Kool Kreme cool ice cream donuts, as well as Mister Donut’s Japanese-style mochi and brand-new soft serve desserts, all aimed at bringing you sweet and refreshing coolness!

Starting in July, as temperatures soar day by day, Krispy Kreme—known for its endlessly creative desserts—has for the first time introduced its Kool Kreme cool ice cream donut series in Taiwan. The series pairs soft original glazed donuts with sweet ice cream, offering a rich yet refreshing double delight for your taste buds. The Kool Kreme series comes in two flavors: Chocolate Caramel and Strawberry Caramel, and is available seasonally at Xinyi Vivocity, Taipei Main Station, and New Taipei Banqiao stores.

Meanwhile, the ever-popular Japanese-style donut brand Mister Donut continues the momentum of its first wave of matcha-season products by adding a second wave in July, featuring eight new items. These include upgraded-texture donuts using imported Japanese matcha-flavored chocolate, bringing four new matcha-flavored donuts for more variety—such as Double Matcha Pod, Matcha Red Bean Angel Pod, Double Matcha Offee, and Matcha Angel Franche. Additionally, two authentic Japanese matcha gift box sets, synchronized with Japan’s market, feature matcha pudding flavors with cute floral designs that are very eye-catching. There are also two new matcha-themed desserts: Matcha Red Bean Pie and Matcha Red Bean Muffin, plus a savory option, Seaweed Soy Sauce Mochi. For frozen treats, four types of refreshing and creamy soft serve are highlighted: Mango Milk Soft Serve, Berry Milk Soft Serve, Matcha Red Bean Soft Serve, and Rich Chocolate Soft Serve. In total, 13 new items (priced between NT$35 and NT$280) are being launched together as summer arrives, showcasing the brand’s ambition to capture Taiwan’s summer dessert market with a rich and diverse product lineup.

The matcha season is an important flagship product line for Mister Donut every year. This year, the second wave also includes four matcha-flavored donuts sold in sync with Japan, featuring increased matcha content. Not only is matcha powder added during the donut-making process, but matcha-flavored chocolate is also used as an outer glaze, doubling the matcha flavor for a more fragrant and mellow taste: the Double Matcha Pod launched on July 6th, and the Double Matcha Offee on July 20th.
