The Jianshanhu Terraced Fields in Shimen District are terraces built from volcanic rocks of Yangmingshan, with a history of over a hundred years. After years of fallow, the terraces have been revitalized with the help of the government and local farming enthusiasts who planted cosmos flowers, creating another rural landscape. 

To revitalize farmland and assist the community in expanding pesticide-free cultivation areas, cosmos flowers were specially planted in the terraces of Songshan Community this year. In addition to creating a scenic view, this also helps improve soil quality for the planting of "Thousand-Year Rice" next year. From now until the end of July, the cosmos flowers planted in the community terraces are in full bloom, presenting a vibrant sea of blossoms — the best time for flower viewing. The Shimen District Office warmly welcomes visitors to walk to the "Three Visits to the Thatched Cottage" viewpoint, built by local farmers beside the Tudigongling Trail, to admire the terraced fields of Songshan Community. The layered and well-defined terraces offer a fantastic vantage point. Visitors can also explore nearby attractions such as Qing Shan Waterfall, Jianshanhu Trail, and Tudigongling Ancient Trail for a serene experience, and combine the trip with a one-day tour to Baisha Bay and Fugih Fishing Port.
