Once described by writer Liu Kechuang as a “legendary unreachable station,” Taitung Shanli Station is the most distant of Taiwan Railways Administration’s more than 200 stations—about 7 kilometers from the main highway. Starting on July 18, 2015, it will officially begin selling commemorative platform tickets for the first time, limited to 1,000 copies.

Located in Beinan Township, Taitung, Shanli Station is a small station nestled in a village seemingly cut off from the world, surrounded by mountains. It offers one of the best views of the Dulan Mountain Range. As an unscheduled stop where only local trains stop and express trains speed through, it was once dubbed by writer Liu Kechuang as a “legendary unreachable station,” attracting many travelers to Taitung in search of Shanli Station.
