Hsinchu City’s first municipal sports center—and the first in Taiwan outside the six special municipalities—“Xinke Municipal Sports Center” began a 14-day trial operation on July 18, offering free access to the general public throughout the venue. The official opening will take place on August 1.

The Xinke Municipal Sports Center is located on the site of Xinke Junior High School. The four-story above-ground, one-story below-ground building houses facilities including an indoor heated swimming pool, spa pool, children’s pool, sauna, multipurpose court (with basketball and badminton courts), rhythmic dance studio, fitness center, table tennis room, spinning studio, and community classrooms. Not only are the sports facilities diverse, but there is also a rich variety of fitness classes.
