The 2015 Taimali Golden Needle Flower Season officially kicked off on August 1. In addition to offering breathtaking views of the golden needle blossoms, the Taitung County Government has organized a series of engaging flower-viewing events and a dedicated shuttle service to Golden Needle Mountain, ensuring a rich and convenient experience for all visitors.

Located in Taimali, Taitung County, Golden Needle Mountain is the go-to destination for travelers seeking a blissful golden needle flower getaway every August and September. Here, golden needle flowers cascade down the rugged, undulating slopes of the mountain. The cool and pleasant climate is perfect for flower viewing—sometimes under bright blue skies, other times amid misty clouds. From the heights, you can gaze at the sea meeting the horizon alongside swaying golden blooms—a must-see annual floral spectacle every summer.

To celebrate the arrival of the flower season, the Taitung County Government has launched a series of activities. From August 3 to September 11, a special flower-viewing shuttle bus service will be available, operating along two routes departing from “Taimali Township Office” and “Taitung County Tourism Service Center.” Additionally, on August 23, the Taimali Golden Needle Mountain Cycling & Hiking Competition will take place, allowing visitors to explore the endless golden flower seas in various ways.

Flower-Viewing Shuttle Bus
The Taitung County Government is offering a flower-viewing shuttle bus service from August 3 to September 11, with departures from two locations: “Taimali” and “Taitung County Tourism Service Center.” Buses run every Monday to Friday during the event period, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Passengers are required to make online reservations at least three working days in advance. If seats remain unreserved, tickets may be available for purchase on the day of departure.

Departure & Capacity: Three buses per time slot, each with a capacity of 7 passengers. Each tour lasts approximately 3.5 hours. Online reservations are accepted three days before departure (reservations must be made via the website, with payment required by the next day to confirm booking). Remaining seats may be available for on-site registration on the day.

Transportation Information for Taitung Taimali Golden Needle Flower Season
Taitung Taimali is well-connected via the South-Link Highway and North-Link Railway, making transportation quite convenient. Visitors can take trains, buses, drive themselves, or fly into Taitung City and then transfer to local buses or rent a car to reach the area.
◎ Driving Yourself: Take Provincial Highway 9 into downtown Taimali
1. Coming from Kaohsiung (heading north): After passing the 402.5 km mark on Provincial Highway 9, enter downtown Taimali. Look for a Calorie Café (formerly a 7-11) → turn left where signs point to Golden Needle Mountain → follow the signs all the way to Golden Needle Mountain
2. Coming from Hualien (heading south): After passing the 402 km mark on Provincial Highway 9, enter downtown Taimali. Look for a Calorie Café (formerly a 7-11) → turn right where signs point to Golden Needle Mountain → follow the signs all the way to Golden Needle Mountain
