Top 10 Ice Creams in Kaohsiung Announced: Fresh Fruit Soft Serve Takes the Crown

On a hot summer day, nothing beats a refreshing treat to cool down. The Kaohsiung City Tourism Bureau held the "Kaohsiung Top 10 Ice Cream Online Voting Campaign." After nearly a month of intense online voting and nearly 100,000 votes, the list of the top 10 ice creams has been revealed, featuring a variety of options including ice cream, soft serve, shaved ice, snowflake ice, and slushies. Everyone is invited to come eat ice cream and explore Kaohsiung together.

The "Kaohsiung Top 10 Ice Cream Online Voting Campaign," which ran from July 20 to August 16, saw fierce competition over its 28-day voting period. A total of 42 ice shops participated, and through online voting, "Crown Ice City" secured the highest number of votes at 13,019. The selected top 10 shops include "Crown Ice City" and "That Handmade Soft Serve," which insists on using fresh fruits made to order daily. There's also "Chih-Ah Ice City," recognized for its classic-style rice tea shaved ice. "Samsung Yuan Matcha 'Japanese Tea’s Specialty X Bee'," which captivated people with its rich foreign flair and traditional Japanese Umekoji Golden Time flavor, is also on the list, as well as "Polar Bear," known for its diverse offerings like strawberry mochi soft serve and banana milk slush. Additionally, there's "Deer Grassland Ice Shop," which remains committed to classic flavors with its "Deer Grass Shaved Ice." "That Era Almond Tofu Ice," which earned high praise for its nostalgic almond tofu and handmade pudding, and "Dongmen Teahouse," which offers portable preserved fruit cooling tea (or sand), round out the selection. These diverse ice treats showcase the coolest and most unique flavors of Kaohsiung.
