The “2019 Shilin Official Residence Tulip Exhibition ~ Looking Forward to Blooming Together” was held from February 21 to March 3 at the Shilin Official Residence. This year, in addition to showcasing Dutch tulip varieties, it also featured tulips from Tonami City, Toyama Prefecture, Japan for the first time, and the exhibition layout incorporated elements from Dutch and Japanese Tonami Tulip Park, complementing the vibrant and colorful tulip seas to offer visitors a splendid and romantic visual feast！

In addition to displaying tulips in the Western-style garden, this exhibition expanded the venue to the leisure hiking area, showcasing nearly 70,000 tulips in total, presenting a romantic sea of tulips. In addition to tulips from the Netherlands, there were also tulips from Japan.
Tulips are native to Central Asia to the Mediterranean coast. They were widely cultivated in Turkey before being introduced to the Netherlands, and then about 150 years ago to Japan. This year, by utilizing the existing geometrically symmetrical gardens in the Western-style garden and the lush green leisure hiking area, visitors are presented with the magnificent spectacle of tulip seas, sparking an amazing fusion of Eastern and Western elements.
This tulip exhibition features nearly 20 different flower colors, including red, yellow, pink, purple, white, orange, black, and bi-colors, with nearly 70,000 tulips and 2,000 hyacinths in shades of peach, purple-blue, yellow, and pink on display. Additionally, visitors can admire a variety of tulips with diverse and variable flower shapes, such as single-petal cup-shaped blooms, feathery lace-petal blooms resembling zigzag waves, and tulips with multiple layers of petals like roses.
In addition to the static floral exhibition, the “Shilin Official Residence Traveler Fan Page ~ Tulip Creative Photo Submission Campaign” was also held. Prizes include a weekday double buffet lunch voucher at Renaissance Taipei Shilin Hotel’s Shilin Kitchen, a Mongolian hot pot set with American bacon beef, a Guandao hot pot chicken leg set, a California-style Western restaurant healthy pumpkin walnut salad, an oolong tea gift box from Grand Hotel Taipei, and a Fjällräven Kånken Classic backpack from Dream Walker Outdoor Supplies, among other exciting prizes.
