The 2015 Taroko Gorge Music Festival will take place on October 17 and 18 at the Taroko Plateau. This year, the renowned performance group “U-Theatre” has been invited to perform under the theme “Dance of Heaven and Earth,” marking their return to the event.

After ten years, U-Theatre returns to Taroko once again,under the theme “Dance of Heaven and Earth,”bringing a breathtaking percussion performance to the Taroko Plateau between the great mountains and seas, set to debut on October 17with the show“Voices of Taroko,” which will open with a performance by the local Hsiuling Junior High School Choir. Following that, U-Theatre will present pieces such as “Great Drum,” “Gallop,” “Celebration Drums,” and “Rock Climb.” The audience will also have the chance to try drumming themselves, learning the spirit of U-Theatre’s performance directly from the artists. Then on October 18, the program “Sword of the Brave” will convey a sense of peace and serenity, expressing the fear that arises when facing life’s uncertainties, and how overcoming these fears can help reclaim inner calm. Performances will include “Heavy Rainstorm,” “Vajra King Sword,” “Crossing the River,” “Roaring Lion on the Ground,” and “Heart of the Sword.”

The Taroko Gorge Music Festival creates an opportunity for nature, music, and people to come together, bringing music back to nature and allowing audiences to hear the sounds of heaven amid the natural landscape, as well as seeing nature through the lens of music. Preparations for the event are now in full swing, and free shuttle services will be provided. Everyone is invited to Taroko to enjoy this rich musical experience.
