2019 Taiwan Lantern Festival in Pingtung
The Taiwan Lantern Festival was held in Pingtung for the first time, and this year’s edition was absolutely stunning, even hailed as the most beautiful lantern festival in history ! This year’s main lantern “The Giant Tuna Bringing Fortune” is themed around Donggang tuna, andthe eye-catching 15-meter-tall new resident art main lantern “You Melt Into Me.”. The 2019 Pingtung Lantern Festival included three major lantern zones: the Dapeng Bay Main Lantern Area, the Pingtung Lantern Area, and the Donggang Town Lantern Area. During the festival, in addition to viewing the lanterns, there were also spectacular events every day such as a 30-minute main lantern show, a 300-drone light show, the French Utopia Water Theater, and a nocturnal parade.
