The famously over-the-top service-oriented Chinese hotpot chain “Haidilao” is expanding into Taiwan, with its first Taiwanese branch located on the 6th floor of Taipei’s ATT4FUN. Trial operations are set to officially begin on September 14.

Haidilao has an outstanding reputation in China. In addition to its affordable prices and delicious ingredients, it offers a variety of unexpected services, including free manicures and shoe shining in the waiting area, as well as access to computers, Wi-Fi, playing cards, Chinese chess, checkers, and complimentary snacks and drinks. After ordering, if you choose noodles, a live noodle-pulling master will come to your table to perform the art right in front of you, or you might even get to see a “face-changing” performance during your meal. These kinds of surprising dining experiences are a major highlight of Haidilao.

In terms of food, Haidilao mainly serves Sichuan-style hotpot, while also incorporating characteristics of Bashu culinary culture. It currently has 109 branches across 29 cities in China, including Shanghai, Beijing, and Nanjing. Internationally, it has expanded to locations such as Singapore, Seoul, and Los Angeles. Now, its first Taiwanese outlet has opened on the 6th floor of Taipei’s ATT4FUN. Hotpot fans, be sure to come and give it a try.
