The 2019 Taipei Lantern Festival kicked off in the historic western district of Taipei and now enters its final six-day countdown. In addition to the main lantern area, this year the North Gate debuts a spectacular 360-degree surround projection light show.

Inspired by the concept “Swinging North Gate,” this year’s lantern festival uses 360-degree projection technology to give the iconic North Gate a dazzling nighttime makeover.

A seven-minute feature light and projection show further captivates visitors, encouraging them to stop and take photos. The glowing North Gate at night, together with the bustling crowds enjoying the festival, adds even more vibrancy to Taipei’s evening scene.

In the vicinity of the North Gate, there are also many well-preserved Japanese colonial-era buildings that visitors can explore and photograph, making it possible to enjoy a full day of activities from morning to night during the lantern festival.
