● Caoling Historic Trail
As one of the most representative historic trails in Northeast Taiwan, Caoling Historic Trail turns into a sea of swaying white waves when autumn arrives, offering a truly refreshing experience. The Northeast Coast National Scenic Area also holds11a “Caoling Historic Trail Silvergrass Season” event every year, inviting everyone to head up the mountains to admire the autumn silvergrass.

● Wufen Mountain Hiking Trail
Wufen Mountain, located at the boundary between Pingxi District, Ruifang District, and Nuannuan District of Keelung, takes about two hours to reach the summit via the staircase trail from the entrance. Along the way, you’re accompanied by cool, pleasant streams. From the top, you can see Wufen Mountain’s iconic landmark — the “Central Weather Bureau Radar Station” — and enjoy an open, expansive view that takes in the mountain and sea scenery of Ruifang and Keelung Harbor.

● Cup-Ear Tea Kettle Mountain Trail
Located east of Jinguashi, Cup-Ear Tea Kettle Mountain is distinctive in shape and has become a landmark of the area. Looking toward the Route102highway from Jiufen to Shuangxi, the rocky peak on the summit resembles a teapot without ears—hence its name. The hiking trail up Cup-Ear Tea Kettle Mountain includes about 300 meters of stone steps, with a not-too-steep slope. The path offers wide views, and from the summit, you can look down upon Yin-Yang Sea, Jilong Mountain, and the entire Jinguashi area.

● Hutou Mountain Hiking Trail
Although Taoyuan’s Hutou Mountain Park is just a small hill with an elevation of251meters, this urban fringe forest park has long been the most convenient place for people in the Taoyuan metropolitan area to connect with nature and get some exercise, earning it the reputation of the “Back Garden of Taoyuan.” Due to past logging, the vegetation along the ridgeline at the summit is now dominated by Miscanthus floridulus, and the sight of silvergrass fluttering in late autumn attracts many visitors.
