Accommodation is an inevitable expense when traveling. In line with the Executive Yuan’s consumer stimulation measures, the Tourism Bureau of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications has launched a domestic travel subsidy campaign, providing 115,000 discount e-vouchers for travelers to apply for. Each person can receive up to NT$1,000 in accommodation subsidies.Applications open at 10 a.m. on the 20th.

Travelers who wish to obtain a serial number can, after the application period opens, visit the “Domestic Travel Accommodation Discount Campaign” section on the official campaign websites (Taiwan Hotel Reservation Network, Tourism Administration Information Network, Taiwan Tourism Calendar), log in with their personal information, and apply to receive an electronic discount serial number for domestic travel accommodations. When making a reservation, inform the accommodation provider of the discount e-voucher number, and have them mark the number as “reserved” to confirm eligibility for the subsidy. Then, present an ID at checkout to verify personal use and receive the discount.

The Tourism Bureau stated,the subsidy campaign runs from November 20, 2015, to February 29, 2016,and is open to all citizens of the Republic of China. Those who obtain a serial number can receive a 30% discount on accommodation fees (up to NT$1,000) when staying at participating hotels and homestays.
※ Discount Application Process:
Log in with your personal information in the “Domestic Travel Accommodation Discount Campaign” section on the campaign website → inform the accommodation provider of your discount e-voucher number when booking → present your ID at checkout → enjoy the discount.
※ Each person may apply for one discount e-voucher only. Each voucher can be used to receive a 30% discount on the cost of one room, with a maximum subsidy of NT$1,000.
※ The accommodation discount subsidy can also be combined with accommodation vouchers, promotional discount coupons, bookings made through travel agencies (booking websites), or group tours organized by travel agencies.
