Called the world’s grossest attraction, the “Gum Wall” in Seattle, USA, is covered with 20 years’ worth of accumulated chewing gum residue. This unique landmark was co-created by locals and travelers from around the globe. Over the years, it has amassed millions of colorful gum wads that have weighed heavily on the wall. For safety reasons, local authorities began a cleanup operation on the 10th to scrape off the gum, temporarily bidding farewell to this historic gum wall.

This unique attraction, the “Gum Wall,” is located at Seattle’s Pike Place Market, specifically on the exterior wall of the Market Theater. Since the 1990s, audience members waiting for shows at the theater began sticking their chewed gum on the wall. Over time, the entire wall became covered with multicolored gum pieces—red, yellow, green, blue, and more—turning it into an alternative “interactive” art attraction. It drew visitors from around the world who came to pay homage and contribute their own pieces.
