As 2015 came to a close, Universal Studios Japan held a special New Year’s Eve event from 7:00 PM on December 31, 2015, to 2:00 AM on January 1, 2016, titled the “Universal Countdown Party 2016.” A limited-time “Party Ticket” (tax included, 11,800 yen) was also on sale, offering access to exclusive activities during those seven hours as well as a full 26 hours of park enjoyment until 9:00 PM on January 1. Tickets are now on sale.

On December 31, the annual “all-night opening” night will welcome visitors celebrating the arrival of the new year. Guests can fully enjoy the already immensely popular Wizarding World of Harry Potter, which will offer a one-day-only “overnight opening.” The Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey ride, upgraded to 3D in May of this year, along with the spectacular Hogwarts Castle towering in the night sky, will authentically recreate scenes from the movies in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter area. In addition, the highly popular “The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man: The Ride 4K3D” and the world-renowned high-quality roller coaster “Hollywood Dream – The Ride” will all be available for unlimited rides throughout the night. The park atmosphere will be electrified to the max.

Additionally, there will be a “Countdown Moment” that will take the excitement of the “Universal Countdown Party 2016” to its peak. At the stroke of midnight, a dazzling fireworks display will light up the night sky, accompanied by light and sound effects. Throughout this special night, guests can join in the limited-time special performances to celebrate this extraordinary day. Visitors can also enjoy the thrill of riding limited-ride and popular attractions, and witness the countdown moment, during which the most spectacular fireworks show ever will be launched. Ring in the new year in an atmosphere bursting with energy and excitement.
