Iraq is set to construct the world’s tallest building, “The Bride,” standing at 1,152 meters—taller than the current tallest, Dubai’s Burj Khalifa—becoming a globally iconic landmark that has generated much anticipation.

“The Bride” will be built in Basra Province in southern Iraq and consist of four buildings, with the tallest main tower reaching 1,152 meters across 241 floors. It will house offices, hotels, parks, schools, residences, and even an internal railway network, functioning like a vertical city.

In addition to its distinctive appearance, the building emphasizes sustainability and environmental protection, targeting “zero-energy consumption.” Each tower will use reflection to maximize natural light while reducing solar heat gain. The architectural firm behind the project, AMBS Architects, stated that they hope “The Bride” will not only serve its residents and businesses but also offer enjoyment to people from around the world. The development is also expected to promote more concentrated urban growth while protecting the environment, with completion scheduled for 2025.
