New vending machine in Taichung！ Limited to 200 bottles per day of premium milk tea

Coin-operated milk tea vending machine on Yizhong Street – Mingliu Tea House

Milk tea vending machines have suddenly sprung up all over Taichung, mostly concentrated around Yizhong Street. This one from "Mingliu Tea House" caused a long line on its first day of sales on May 27 (Friday), and judging by the turnout, it doesn’t look like the craze will die down anytime soon.

The location of the Mingliu Tea House vending machine is in front of Yizhong Shinjuku, at the intersection of Yucainan Street and Zunxian Street... If you're coming from Taiping Road, just turn into the alley where McDonald's is and you’ll see it.

Take a photo and check in on the first day of opening, then like the Mingliu Tea House fan page to receive a mystery gift... Sorry I didn’t get this written earlier, so I don’t actually know what the mystery gift is either.

Turns out students are really well-informed—there was already a line before sales even started... Rumor has it that sales began at 6:00 PM, and everything sold out by 7:10 PM. Total sellout, no doubt.

I was lucky enough to get early access to sample the products. The two cans in my hand are the “only two” items currently offered by the Mingliu Tea House coin-operated milk tea vending machine...

Matcha Latte – NT$70

The price isn’t cheap, but each can contains 480ml. It uses Kyoto matcha, high-temperature sterilized imported fresh milk, and fresh cream, all mixed in a well-balanced ratio. The taste is rich, and you can definitely taste the aroma of the matcha... Mingliu Tea House seems to be the first vending machine in Taichung to offer a matcha latte flavor.

Premium Milk Tea – NT$50

The other can is milk tea, and it’s a bit cheaper... It uses Earl Grey tea and Chulu fresh milk, brewed twice. It has the aroma of Earl Grey tea, isn't bitter, and isn’t overly sweet either...

Milk tea vending machines have been popular in Tainan for a while now, and it looks like Taichung is just getting started. Adventurous foodies might want to give it a try.

These cans are also reusable—you can use them to make cold brew tea at home too... XD
