Thailand’s much-discussed “G-Tower” was officially completed in the second half of 2015. It has begun recruiting office tenants and is set to open in 2016. Travelers planning to visit Bangkok in 2016 will be able to see this eye-catching new landmark in person.

The new landmark “G-Tower” boasts an eye-catching design. True to its name, it is a novel structure shaped like the letter G. The building consists of north and south wings, with 30 and 42 floors respectively. The southern wing is tilted, giving the impression that it might collapse at any moment. This drew many complaints from local residents during construction and sparked considerable discussion.

In addition, Grand Canal Land, the group investing in G-Tower, is also planning to construct another building next to G-Tower — Super Tower — which will rise 615 meters high with approximately 125 floors. It will include both retail and hotel functions and, once completed, will become the tallest building in Southeast Asia, expected to stir up yet another wave of discussion.
