The Taoyuan Flower Color Festival Kicks Off – A Stunning Tai Chi Flower Sea That Captivates

The first-ever "Taoyuan Flower Color Festival" kicked off in relay style across four districts—Zhongli, Pingzhen, Dayuan, and Luzhu—starting December 12. The initial wave of events launched on the 12th in Zhongli, Pingzhen, and Dayuan, and will continue in line with the flower blooming period until December 20. Then, starting December 19, the Luzhu District takes over, with the floral displays and on-site activities running until December 27. That means you can enjoy beautiful flower seas in Taoyuan for almost the entire month.

The Taoyuan Flower Color Festival plants flower seas in place of resting rice paddies, featuring blooms such as sunflowers, cosmos, and zinnias to showcase the beautiful new look of Taoyuan’s rural areas. The event also invites everyone to take advantage of the warm early winter sunshine and come enjoy the joyful atmosphere of vibrant flowers and plants. Each of the four festival zones features unique floral landscapes. The Zhongli event’s theme, “Tai Chi ‘Floral Language & Change’,” was created through the collective ingenuity of local farmers, combining “flower colors” with the geometric qualities of “circles” to present a stunning red-and-white Tai Chi yin-yang image in the fields. Pingzhen District adopts a fairy tale theme, transforming the area into a dreamlike garden and incorporating fun three-dimensional designs to attract visitors for photos. The Dayuan District event is held at the Xihai Flower Park, a major wholesale hub for northern flower shops and vendors, with nearby well-known leisure farms. In addition to DIY hibiscus fruit preserves and flower tea made by local home economics classes, there is also a scenic flower wall for photos. The Luzhu District has hosted landscape flower season events for several years, attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors annually. This year’s event, themed “Luzhu Fantasy Garden,” makes visitors feel as though they’ve stepped into a time tunnel.
