Merci Vielle is tucked away in a small alley in Banqiao. Its compact space showcases the unique charm of an old apartment building, where you can see remnants of the old memories from buildings that have stood for 40 or 50 years. Rather than erasing them, Merci Vielle brings warmth through coffee and the companionship found in its small touches of human connection.

Eyewear Café is a small Japanese-inspired eatery with just a few tables and chairs. The serving plates are small, and the drinkware holds modest portions. Everything here has a quaint, nostalgic Japanese feel. With exquisite Japanese-style culinary skills, ambient music blends with soft conversations. Though people come and go, the place feels quietly lively.

This café is housed in an old apartment building in Zhongshan District. The entrance on the first floor is rather unassuming, with a moai statue from Easter Island on display. From the second floor up to the rooftop terrace, each level has a unique vibe, yet they all blend harmoniously. The signature Angel Egg Salad is sweet and refreshing. The space feels casual but occasionally exudes the nostalgic charm of old Taiwan.

Hao’s Lab applies an experimental spirit to branding, dining, exhibitions, and more. The café uses select Taiwanese teas and coffee beans, offering limited-edition dishes daily. In this white-brick-walled lab, you can customize your own coffee—want more milk aroma? Try a coffee au lait experiment, or go straight for a one-of-a-kind homemade yin-yang milk tea. The space also displays animal and plant specimens, with an experimental vibe everywhere. Though it’s no longer a brand-new café, you’ll still see its inventive drinks popping up on Instagram every day.

A newly planned three-story space in Zhongshan Old Town: a bookstore, coffee bar, and art gallery. The first floor combines a coffee bar and bookstore, featuring nearly 200 types of books and magazines on art and design; the second floor hosts lectures, solo exhibitions, and pop-up shop events on an irregular basis, and also offers venue rental services; the third floor is a more professional art gallery space for various forms of interactive exhibitions, like an oasis in the city, evoking endless imagination and anticipation.
