In recent years, camping has become a popular leisure activity in Taiwan, and the Hualien County Government recently announced that 18 school campuses in the county will be opened for camping during the 2016 Spring Festival, allowing people to experience outdoor living while further discovering the beauty of Hualien.

The following schools will be open for camping during the Spring Festival holiday: Along the mountain route (Provincial Highways 8, 9, 9A, and 30), including Xiubao Elementary School in Xiulin Township, Heping Elementary School in Xiulin Township, Chongde Elementary School in Xiulin Township, Jiamin Elementary School in Xiulin Township, Hualien Junior High School in Hualien City, Wenlan Elementary School in Xiulin Township, Tonglan Elementary School in Xiulin Township, Jianqing Elementary School in Wanrong Township, Ruisui Junior High School in Ruisui Township, Taiping Elementary School in Zhuoxi Township, Shan Elementary School in Zhuoxi Township, Yuli Junior High School in Yuli Town, Lehhe Elementary School in Yuli Town, Zhuoxi Elementary School in Zhuoxi Township, and Fuli Elementary School in Fuli Township; Along the coastal route (Provincial Highway 11), including Shuilian Elementary School in Shoufeng Township, Fengbin Elementary School in Fengbin Township, and Gangkou Elementary School in Fengbin Township, totaling 18 schools open for camping.※ Except for Tonglan Elementary School in Xiulin Township, Fengbin Elementary School in Fengbin Township, Lehhe Elementary School in Yuli Town, and Zhuoxi Elementary School in Zhuoxi Township, which do not charge fees, the other 14 schools will collect cleaning and site usage fees as appropriate.

In addition, the Education Division of Hualien County Government reminds visitors to take care of public property during the camping period, strictly follow the rules: no open fires for cooking, no unauthorized power connections, no littering, and no loud noise. When leaving, please tidy up the area and take all trash away to help maintain the cleanliness and tranquility of the campuses.
