A new cultural and creative restaurant called “Zhenxin Restaurant” has opened in the Japanese-style dormitory area of Tainan’s Xinhua District and has recently sparked conversation with its “Lotion Coffee.” In reality, Lotion Coffee is just iced latte. Initially, they felt that calling it an iced latte was too ordinary, so they used their observation and imagination to note how the layers of coffee, milk foam, and milk in an iced latte are clearly distinct—with the top layer of milk and foam having a smooth texture that visually resembles lotion. That’s how they came up with the name “Lotion Coffee,” which successfully created a buzz. Aside from Lotion Coffee, the shop also offers Lotion Black Tea, Lotion Ovaltine, and other drinks. Although the layered look is best when served in bottles, the shop kindly advises customers to shake the drink before consumption to mix the layers evenly for an even better flavor.
