This year’s Spring Festival holiday lasts nine days. In addition to returning home to reunite with family, many people also take advantage of the holiday period to go on outdoor trips. To ensure a safe, smooth, and enjoyable Spring Festival holiday, the Tourism Bureau of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications, based on tourist conditions at various sightseeing and recreational areas during past Spring Festivals, has predicted the top ten popular scenic spots likely to experience congestion. To avoid traffic buildup due to high vehicle volume, the bureau has launched packaged tour services such as “Taiwan Sightseeing Buses” and “Taiwan Good To Go” (scenic area shuttle buses), and reminds travelers to take these options into consideration when planning their itineraries.

To encourage the public to use public transport during the Spring Festival, the Tourism Bureau of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications and related agencies have planned 13 dedicated shuttle bus routes in key sightseeing and recreational areas such as Jinguashi, Jiufen, Sun Moon Lake, Alishan, Guanziling, Maolin, and Taroko. In addition, the Tourism Bureau has also introduced 57 “Taiwan Sightseeing Bus” packaged itineraries during the Spring Festival and guided county and city governments and national scenic area administrations to operate 39 “Taiwan Good To Go” (scenic area shuttle buses). Travelers who prefer not to drive or deal with parking can make good use of these services.

Based on tourist conditions at various sightseeing and recreational areas during past Spring Festivals, the Tourism Bureau of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications has predicted that the following popular but potentially congested spots include: Jinguashi and Jiufen, Nanzhuang, Sun Moon Lake, Xitou, Alishan, Beitou Wedding Photo Spot, Guanziling, Fo Guang Shan Buddha Memorial Center, Kenting, and Chulu Ranch. To avoid traffic congestion caused by heavy vehicle flow, the bureau advises the use of public transportation and to pay attention to related traffic diversion measures.

● Northern Taiwan
→ Jinguashi and Jiufen areas (Provincial Highway 2, County Road 102)
It is recommended to take the “Taiwan Good To Go” Golden Fulong Line or choose the “Taiwan Sightseeing Bus” Jiufen and Northeast Coast sightseeing itinerary.

It is recommended to take the “Taiwan Good To Go” Nanzhuang Line, Shishan Nanzhuang Line, or choose the “Taiwan Sightseeing Bus” Miaoli Nanzhuang itinerary.
