These are perfect for including in your travel plans throughout various seasons. A quick visit to these beautiful corners of Tainan will add a touch of gorgeous natural color to your trip photos.

● Plum Blossoms
Known for its plum blossoms, Tainan’s Meiling area features not only vast plum tree plantations but also numerous Taiwan mountain cherries, azaleas, and purple peonies scattered across the mountains, heralding early spring from January to February. The starting point for flower viewing is the entrance to Meifeng Ancient Trail next to the public restaurant. This mid-elevation trail, about one kilometer long, is lined with around 600 Taiwan mountain cherries and thousands of azaleas and purple peonies—perfect for a delightful stroll and memorable photo ops.

● Magenta Trumpet Trees
The beautiful and romantic magenta trumpet trees are among the first springtime greeters in Tainan. Plentiful along roadsides in Xiaying District, Jiali District, Liujia District, Shanhua District, West Central District, and North District, with some also scattered in Annan District, Dainei District, Guantian District, Liuying District, Xinying District, Xuejia District, and Yujing District. These trees bloom with purple or pink flowers from around January to February, flowering only after their leaves have fallen. Their striking blossoms resemble beautiful bells hanging from the branches.

● Yellow Trumpet Trees & Sunflowers
Also blooming in early spring are yellow trumpet trees, whose golden-yellow clustered, slightly head-shaped blossoms sway in the wind and scatter like a “golden rain,” creating a wonderfully romantic atmosphere under the trees. These are widely planted at Yi Zai Jin Cheng, Anping Tree House, Lin Sen Road in East District, Park Avenue in Jiali District, Ye Shitao Literature Memorial Hall in West Central District, Yanding Prince Shrine, both sides of Airport Road in RenDe District, Wenxiaoer Park in Xiaying, the Huotoupi Suspension Bridge Café, and Taiwan Poetry Road in Yanshui District. Also found along Taiwan Poetry Road are sunflowers nurtured by farmers, which visitors can enjoy during fallow farming seasons.
