Travelers to Japan no longer have to worry about not having enough yen. Starting in February, you can exchange 13 foreign currencies, including NTD, directly at specific FamilyMart convenience stores in Japan. The service will initially be available at tourist-heavy branches such as Asakusa in Tokyo, where 24-hour self-service foreign currency exchange machines will be installed. It is expected that by the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, the number of stores offering currency exchange will expand to over 1,000, improving shopping convenience for tourists.

FamilyMart Japan has partnered with Travelex Japan, a foreign currency exchange company, to install self-service currency exchange machines at selected branches. Travelers can use these machines to exchange 13 foreign currencies — including NTD, USD, EUR, CNY, AUD, HKD, GBP, and THB — into Japanese yen. Additionally, the self-service machines offer four language options: Chinese, English, Japanese, and Korean. The minimum exchange amount is 10 yen. The initiative aims to provide tourists with a more convenient shopping experience through the installation of these machines.
