Travelers in Kaohsiung now have a new transportation option as "Uber" announces its entry into the city, offering rides for just NT$1 as a limited-time promotion to encourage more people to try the service.

Its biggest difference from regular taxis is that anyone can become an Uber driver to earn income, and passengers can also rate drivers through the app. Thanks to its affordable prices, quality service, and frequent promotional campaigns, it has become quite popular among consumers.

Currently, Uber is available in Taipei, New Taipei, Taoyuan, and Taichung in Taiwan. Now it’s expanding to Kaohsiung and launching a limited-time promotion to boost visibility. From now until 11:59 PM on February 22, anyone riding Uber in Kaohsiung — whether new or existing members — can enjoy rides for just NT$1. Please note that this promotion is limited to trips with both pick-up and drop-off within the Kaohsiung area (including Gangshan District, Yanchao District, Qiaotou District, Daxi District, Dashu District, Nanzih District, Renwu District, Niaosong District, Fengshan District, Daliao District, and Xiaogang District), with a maximum of five discounted rides per person, and fares under NT$200 are capped at just NT$1.Finally, it’s important to remind everyone that since Uber is still not legally recognized in Taiwan, legal protection may be limited if issues arise.
