Yilan Spring Highlight: The 17th Yilan Green Expo is expected to commence with great fanfare at Wujihkeng Scenic Area on March 26. With the 2016 theme “Grain Heart,” the event seeks to steer the public away from unscrupulous practices and restore a conscience-driven lifestyle by rethinking our relationship with food, especially in light of Taiwan’s recent food safety scandals. Early bird discount tickets are now available for purchase at convenience stores, offering an exclusive 20% discount. Additionally, visitors who purchase tickets with the last two digits of their serial number as “17” will receive a complimentary multi-entry pass worth NT$300.

The 2016 Green Expo will be held from March 26 to May 15 at Wujihkeng Scenic Area. In response to the various food and daily product safety scandals that have rocked Taiwan in recent years, leading to widespread public anxiety and distrust, this year’s Yilan Green Expo builds upon Yilan’s green values and sustainability ethos. It explores the central theme “Grain Heart” through five key perspectives: Earth Home, Nature Conservation, Rediscovering Grain Heart, Green Living, and Mountain Forest School. Through richly layered artistic creations and interactive experiences, visitors are guided from a broad perspective on the critical challenges facing the Earth to discovering hopeful seeds within nature.

This year’s event runs from March 26 to May 15, and in addition to the captivating designs and engaging experiences throughout the pavilions, the organizers have also planned a diverse range of creative activities including photography, music, cuisine, natural dyeing, and theater.
