In spring, aside from Japan, South Korea—also located at a similar mid-latitude—boasts equally breathtaking cherry blossom scenes. The Korea Tourism Organization recently released the nationwide cherry blossom forecast. Due to weather conditions, the 2016 cherry blossom season started 3 to 5 days earlier than usual. From March 20th, blossoms could be seen successively on Jeju Island, the southernmost part of the country, while other popular cherry blossom spots such as Jinhae are predicted to bloom around March 27th, and Seoul’s Yeouido Island around April 7th.
