Many Taiwanese tourists place orders on Japanese shopping websites before traveling to Japan and have their purchases delivered to their hotels. But things can get tricky if the hotel doesn’t offer package receiving services. Now, you don’t have to worry — starting April 1, Japan Post has launched a service allowing travelers to pick up online purchases at post offices, offering a new way to receive your goods.

To provide more convenient services, Japan Post has introduced a package pickup service. Users simply need to select a post office as the delivery address when shopping online to receive a pickup code (via email) from the shopping site. They can then collect their packages at the designated post office using the code. After the service launch, packages can be picked up at 20,000 post offices nationwide (excluding simple service post offices), with plans to expand the service to all 45,400 post offices in the future.

Please note that to use Japan Post’s package pickup service, customers can only select the post office’s “You Pack (ゆうパック)” shipping option. Packages must not exceed a combined length, width, and height of 170 cm and must weigh 30 kg or less.
