Tokyo Tower events are getting even more exciting. On March 21, to coincide with the announcement of "Tokyo's cherry blossoms have bloomed," a one-day-only pink cherry blossom-themed illumination was launched. Recently, a monthly full moon special lighting—"Full Moon Limited Diamond Special Illumination"—was introduced. On March 23, which is a full moon night, this special illumination will start at sunset and continue until 22:00 at night. Travelers planning a trip to Tokyo soon should keep an eye on the full moon schedule for a chance to see the beautifully illuminated Tokyo Tower at night.

In addition to the “Full Moon Limited Diamond Special Illumination,” 100 candles will also be lit on every full moon night to create a romantic atmosphere in the Main Observatory. During the “Full Moon Limited Diamond Special Illumination,” the upper half of Tokyo Tower will remain unlit to highlight the glow of the full moon, while the lower part of the tower will be bathed in soft pink lighting, symbolizing the gentle radiance of pink diamonds. It’s expected that during the September full moon coinciding with the Mid-Autumn Festival, the lower portion will feature blue lighting, and in December, due to the Christmas holiday season, the Full Moon Limited Illumination will be suspended for one month.

The “TOKYO TOWER CITY LIGHT FANTASIA” event, which began on November 13, 2015, attracted over 100,000 visitors. Through a 360-degree, immersive 3D light show, it gave Tokyo Tower’s nightscape a fresh new look. With the arrival of cherry blossom season, starting March 1, a cherry blossom-themed 3D light show has been presented. From 18:30 to 22:30, the 8-minute 3D display runs continuously, located on the second floor of the Main Observatory. This spring cherry blossom-themed 3D light show adds even more romance to the Tokyo nightscape seen from Tokyo Tower, making it a must-see highlight for visitors.
