The Most Beautiful Wisteria Feast: The Ashikaga Flower Park’s Great Wisteria Festival Begins

The “Ashikaga Flower Park,” once ranked among the world’s top ten dreamlike attractions by CNN in the U.S., will host the “Wisteria Story—Great Wisteria Festival” from April 16 to May 22. During this period, visitors can admire a vast flower trellis spanning one thousand square meters covered in around 150-year-old purple wisteria, along with a flower tunnel made up of white and yellow wisteria. Stepping inside, you can enjoy the faint floral fragrance that is truly intoxicating.

Famous for its wisteria, Ashikaga Flower Park features a variety of flowers and landscape designs. For wisteria alone, there are three trellises covering 300 tsubo and an eight-layered large wisteria trellis also spanning 300 tsubo, as well as an 80-meter-long white wisteria tunnel and a yellow wisteria tunnel—making it a rare wisteria park in the world. During the Great Wisteria Festival, the park also offers a nighttime light show, allowing visitors to appreciate the beauty of wisteria after dark. In addition, from mid-April onwards, over 5,000 azaleas and various other flowers in the park will bloom in succession, making Ashikaga Flower Park vibrant and breathtakingly beautiful.
