Enjoying cherry blossoms in Tokyo can be a unique experience. Starting March 18, one of Tokyo’s last two remaining tram lines, the Toden Arakawa Line, has been transformed into the “Toden Sakura Line.” Simply by riding the tram, you can take in four stunning cherry blossom sights along the Arakawa Line.

Tokyo’s cherry blossoms are beginning to bloom one after another. To celebrate the beautiful cherry blossom season, the Tokyo Metropolitan Bureau of Transportation has decorated Toden Arakawa Line train No. 9002 with cherry blossom-themed wallpaper, creating a highly seasonal atmosphere for passengers. Cherry blossom viewing spots along the Toden Arakawa Line include “Arakawa Nature Park,” which features a wide variety of Somei Yoshino cherry trees and has been listed among Tokyo’s Top 100 Views. Riding the tram also offers a great view of the cherry blossom grove at the Sankaijima Water Reclamation Center.
