Summer in Korea is the coolest escape – Theme parks offer half-price entry for kids

South Korea, close to Taiwan, is a travel destination suitable for all ages, especially with its many famous large amusement parks that offer a variety of thrilling rides, opportunities to observe wildlife on land or in water, as well as cool water play and snow experiences, always delivering unforgettable fun for visitors. Located in downtown Seoul, Lotte World is a world-class theme park in the city. It is also the filming location of classic Korean dramas such as "Stairway to Heaven" and "Full House." For the most romantic Korean experience, Lotte World is the place to go. The park integrates a hotel, department store, duty-free shop, large supermarket, cinema, and food court, offering everything from sightseeing and leisure to shopping and entertainment – a true “city within a city” perfect for family fun.

The park mainly consists of the indoor Adventure World and the outdoor Magic Island. Adventure World is known as one of the world’s largest indoor theme parks, designed around the theme of a “Global Village,” showcasing completely different atmospheres during the day and night. The park features over 40 thrilling cutting-edge rides, and more than 50 daily parades, stage shows, laser shows, and other performances of various sizes that keep visitors entertained.
Opened in 2014, the “Lotte Aquarium” inside can house 650 species and 55,000 marine creatures, and includes Korea’s largest aquarium with a 25-meter-wide tank. It features exhibits across 13 different themes representing the world’s five oceans, allowing close encounters with magical and adorable sea life.

“Everland” is the seventh-largest theme park in the world. Famous performances within the park such as “Carnival in the Land of Joy,” “Dream Parade of Festivities,” “High-Tech Multimedia Show,” and “Moonlight Parade at Night” provide visual and sensory thrills, while the various seasonal events throughout the year offer even more surprising fun.

In addition to performances, parades, and parties, Everland also boasts a vast wildlife park where you can explore many rare and precious animals with your children, including herbivore zones, exotic animals (like sloths and fennec foxes...), and exciting animal shows that leave lasting impressions.

If the heat is unbearable, here’s another cool destination in Korea. Opened in March 2013, Onemount in Gyeonggi’s Ilsan KINTEX is a theme park and large shopping mall that combines an open-air shopping center with an ice park, water park, and sports club. Covering a total area of 50,000 pyeong, its “ONE MOUNT Indoor Ski Slope” offers cool experiences such as snow tubing, sledding, ice bikes, and ice slides.
