To reach Oketo Park in Oketo Town, you can take the JR train to Abashiri Station and then transfer to a bus (about 50 minutes), or take the JR to Oketo Station in Oketo Town and then a taxi (about 5–6 minutes). Local specialties and foods to try here include cheese, fresh milk, satsuki strawberries, Tokomote beef, and satsuki tsukemen. Don’t miss the chance to experience and shop for these. The Ginzan Water in Tokomote Satsuki Flower Park is one of Japan’s Top 100 Famous Waters; the entire Tokomote Mountain area boasts stunning scenery, with Sarukura Peak being one of Japan’s famous Hyakumeizan (100 Famous Mountains).
