The adorable and effortlessly laid-back Gudetama is making its way to Kaohsiung in the “Too Lazy” Exhibition!* The character Gudetama, developed by Japan’s SANRIO, gives voice to the inner desires of hardworking modern people who long to slack off and escape the pressures of work and school. Centered around Gudetama’s daily life, the exhibition showcases the character’s charmingly lazy moments in a simple and relatable way, providing fans with a resonant outlet for their own yearning to take it easy.

Gudetama is just an egg, often taking the form of fried eggs, scrambled eggs, and other food shapes in various cooking styles. With a variety of preparations, its standout features are its listless expressions and movements—always in this drowsy state, unwilling to do anything, with a laid-back personality that’s both amusing and endearing.

The exhibition area employs a diverse range of themes, delivering an overwhelming wave of cute marketing from entrance to exit. Taiwanese characteristics are specially integrated into the displays, using various imaginative ways that show Gudetama “invading” Taiwan to spark the public’s endless imagination about creative fusions of folk art. Additionally, 19 original and precious Gudetama manuscript drafts are making their first-ever appearance in Taiwan.
