On September 20–21, the Beijing Sailing Center (BSC) will host the 1st Youth Optimist Sailing Race and Adult Open Sailing Regatta. For years, BSC has been committed to promoting youth sailing in North China and spreading sailing culture. Through its flagship programs such as the “5-Day Sailing Summer Camp,” “Sailing Youth Camp,” and “Corporate Team Building,” it has introduced the public to sailing—an eco-friendly, healthy, international, and adventurous sport. To further promote sailing culture, BSC will hold its first Youth Optimist Sailing Race and Adult Open Sailing Regatta at the Qinhuangdao Sailing Base. The races will be organized in fleet racing format, with each group competing in preliminaries and finals to determine group champions, runners-up, and third-place winners. Participants may practice on their own starting from September 19. The entry fee is 600 RMB per person, or 300 RMB for members.Eligible participants for the Youth Optimist Sailing Race are Chinese and international youths aged 8–18 who have reached the BSC Bronze level or hold an equivalent certification. A total of 48 participants will compete, using 12 Topaz boats. The race will be divided into Group A (ages 8–12, 24 spots) where two children sail together in one boat (participants may team up themselves or register individually and be paired by BSC), and Group B (ages 13–18, 24 spots) with individual sailors operating the Topaz.

The Adult Open Sailing Regatta is open to adults aged 16–65, with 48 participants forming 24 two-person teams. Teams are self-formed by skippers, and the race uses 12 Omega boats.
Cash prizes or valuable awards will be given to the top three finishers in both the Adult and Youth A & B categories. The Youth A champion will receive a BSC sailing voucher worth 6000 RMB; the runner-up, 4000 RMB; and the third-place winner, 3000 RMB. The Youth B champion will receive a voucher worth 5000 RMB; the runner-up, 3000 RMB; and the third-place winner, 2000 RMB. The Adult champion will receive 10,000 RMB, the runner-up 6,000 RMB, and the third-place winner 4,000 RMB.

1st Beijing Sailing Center Open Regatta
Beijing Sailing Center is pleased to announce the 1st Beijing Sailing Center Open Regatta during Mid-Autumn Festival on 20th 21st September. BSC has been committed to the promotion of sailing, and sailing culture in North China, through its classic "5-day Summer Sailing Camp","Youth Sailing Camps"and "Company Team Building" it has made great progress on promoting a lifestyle that is environmentally friendly, healthy, international and full of the spirit of exploration.
To further promote the sailing culture, BSC will host this regatta at its sailbase in scenic Beidaihe. Racers will be divided into 3 fleets by age, with .every fleet enjoying preliminary and final races. Entry fees are 600 RMB/person (300 RMB/member), plus standard pricing applies during the practice day 19th September. All racers must hold their IYT Bronze Level 1 certificate or equivalent, while boats, wetsuits and safety equipment are all provided.
Youth Fleet A is a maximum 24 kids aged 8-12 years old, with 2 kids per Topaz boat. Kids may register with their team mate or singly (in which BSC will connect them with a team mate). Youth Fleet B is a maximum of 24 teens aged 13-18years old, with 1 teen per Topaz boat.
Adult fleet will race in the Topper Omegas and is open to all ages. There is a maximum of 48 Adults, with 2 sailors per boat, helm and crew organize themselves.
There are top prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd.

About Beijing Sailing Center
Established in 2007, the Beijing Sailing Center (BSC) boasts six years of professional sailing club operation experience. Located in Qinhuangdao—the backyard of Beijing—in the scenic Beidaihe area, it is just a two-hour train ride from Beijing. The site is professionally equipped, situated on the original sailing venue of the 1990 Asian Games. It is a natural sheltered harbor in the Bohai Bay, making it the most suitable place in Northern China for sailing competitions and training. With a mild climate, ideal water temperature, and safe facilities, it offers optimal conditions. BSC provides a wide range of boat types, enabling learners to progress seamlessly from beginner to advanced levels. Its internationally certified coaches offer instruction in both Chinese and English, adhering to international safety training standards.
BSC operates a fully imported fleet of 32 sailboats, including 12 16-foot Omega monohulls that accommodate 5–6 people, 18 10-foot Topaz monohulls for 1–2 people, and 2 16-foot high-performance Topaz catamarans. In addition, there are 3 dedicated Safety Boats operated by professionals to ensure student safety—these are the same rescue boats designated for training by the International Sailing Federation (ISAF). The imported life jackets with head supports used at the base are among the safest available in China’s sailing clubs.
All coaches hold international certifications and provide instruction in both Chinese and English. Six British coaches are certified by the Royal Yachting Association (RYA), and six Chinese coaches hold certifications from the International Yacht Training (IYT) organization.
