The lakeside trail around Changpi Lake Scenic Area in Sanchong Township, Yilan County has officially opened. With a total length of nearly 1 kilometer, it takes about 30 minutes to walk the full loop, allowing visitors to enjoy the scenic beauty of Changpi Lake and take in the refreshing natural phytoncides. In the future, the area will also develop recreational kayaking activities and sightseeing experiences to boost tourism-related business in the surrounding areas.

The original trail around Changpi Lake was built along the eastern side of the lake, where visitors could only go back and forth on the same path. The Sanchong Township Office secured a subsidy of NT$9 million from the Tourism Bureau to first develop a natural forest trail on the western side, then extend the existing lakeside path, connecting both ends to create a brand-new all-age-friendly, family-suitable ecological landscape corridor.

There are many other attractions near Changpi Lake Scenic Area, such as Tiansongpi Station, Songluo National Trail, and the very popular Qingshui Geothermal Park, all ideal for family day trips. The Sanchong Township Office hopes to connect these nearby sites to help drive a tourism boom in Yilan.
