The China Airlines pilots' strike concluded on its seventh day, with both labor and management reaching consensus on five key demands including fatigue. The two parties signed a peace agreement, pledging no strikes for the next three and a half years and committing to arbitration for any future labor disputes.

The China Airlines pilots' strike began at 6 a.m. on February 8 and lasted seven days—nearly 160 hours—impacting 200 flights and more than 25,000 passengers, with cumulative losses reaching NT$500 million. After 11 hours of the fourth round of negotiations, both sides reached consensus on the union’s five key demands, including prohibiting pressure or retaliation against union members, reviewing management systems, including flight safety bonuses in collective agreements, training and promotion of co-pilots, hiring foreign pilots, and scheduling of fatigued flights.
The agreement includes a peace clause ensuring no strikes for the next three and a half years, with all disputes to be resolved through arbitration.
Regarding fatigued flight scheduling, the negotiation results stipulate that flights planned for over 8 hours will be staffed with 3 pilots, and those over 12 hours with 4. On pilot training and hiring foreign pilots, the agreement proposes hiring only foreign co-pilots, prioritizing local pilots if qualifications are equal, with annual manpower planning done by year-end for the following year. The union also demanded that China Airlines refrain from pressuring or intimidating the union or its members. Improvements to the management system will be discussed and implemented, along with enhanced communication between the company and the union in the future.
