As summer arrives, beautiful lotus flowers gradually begin to bloom. The local government has compiled a list of 7 hidden lotus-viewing spots in New Taipei City, each within an hour’s drive from the urban area. In the Xiauhe Lotus Field area of Jinshan Qingshui District, the lotuses have entered their peak blooming season, and lotus seeds and roots are soon to be harvested. Unlike typical lotus fields, this place cultivates rare “double-petal lotuses,” whose flowers are gorgeous and intricate, resembling the noble elegance of peonies. Their luxurious appearance is truly breathtaking.

Additionally, blooming lotus fields can be found in Tunsanli, Tamsui; Shanglinli, Shuangxi; San Shu Road, Sanxia; beside the Danjin Highway in Sanzhi; at the Lotus Park in the Ersheng Flood Diversion Channel; and at the Xinhai Third Phase Artificial Wetland in Banqiao. The lush green lotus leaves sway in the breeze, while delicate, dewy lotus flowers emit their fragrance, spreading an elegant and refreshing aroma in the summer heat, adding a touch of cool beauty to the season.
