The Dragon Boat Festival holiday is a hot time for outbound travel, with crowds swarming Taoyuan Airport early in the morning and check-in lines stretching nearly 100 meters

This year’s four-day Dragon Boat Festival holiday has many people seizing the rare opportunity to travel abroad. On the first day of the break, a large crowd of outbound travelers flocked to Taoyuan Airport around 5:30 AM, with the queue for self-service check-in and baggage drop stretching nearly 100 meters long. Travelers planning to fly out are reminded to leave home early to allow ample time for check-in and boarding.

Around 5:30 AM, a large number of outbound travelers had already gathered at Terminal 1 of Taoyuan Airport. Even with ground staff speeding up their operations, the average wait time for baggage drop alone was at least 30–40 minutes, with queues stretching from check-in counters all the way to the terminal hallway. In addition to recommending that passengers arrive at the airport at least 2.5 hours early, travelers are also advised to make use of self-service check-in services, which can save considerable waiting time.
