Located between Nanjing Sanmin MRT Station and the Taipei City Motor Vehicle Office, tucked away in an alley, is the charming and unique specialty restaurant ‘Mars Kitchen Cuisine de Mars’. Initially thought to be just an American-style burger joint, it actually also offers Italian cuisine and Chinese beef ramen, among others. This time, we were invited to try the reservation-only “Double 30-Ounce American Bone-in Sirloin Steak Set,” which gave Wisely a deliciously satisfying steak experience. He also ordered the must-try all-beef cheeseburger, making for an incredibly enjoyable meal.

At first, I thought it was closer to the MRT station, but it turns out the actual location is right behind the famous “Wanfang Ice Room.” It’s just a few minutes' walk away, and this area is truly a food haven for office workers.

The shop isn’t very large, but it has a cozy European-style design. It’s said that many families with kids come here to dine on weekends.

The back area features the cashier counter and an open kitchen, where you can watch the chefs preparing dishes with care. On the other side is a cultural and creative product display area, selling items from Japan and the Netherlands.

The shop often introduces themed special meals. To find out the latest updates, you can check their Facebook fan page.

The prices of the dishes are quite reasonable, averaging around NT$350 per person. The menu is updated every Monday and changes daily to keep things fresh.

● ETtoday News Cloud reminds you: Don’t drink and drive. Don’t drive after drinking.
Due to its location, the main clientele consists of nearby office workers, so their alcoholic beverages sell quite well. For example, the Valcanto Syrah, which has flavors of blackberries and firm tannins, ends with a hint of premium oak aroma—perfect for pairing with steak. Or you might opt for the El Circo Carberner Sauvignon, with its blackberry, black cherry, and sage notes, which is also a great choice... (PS: Don't drink and drive—safety first.)

For those who don’t drink, we recommend trying their Saint-Germain fruit sparkling drinks, especially the lemon flavor, ideal for the hot summer. Personally, I really like the VIRGIL'S root beer—it has a refreshing sweetness that pairs nicely with desserts and burgers.

Dessert lovers should try the chef’s limited-time holiday desserts. Cakes are available every day—for instance, the lemon cake and chocolate cake we tried had distinct flavors. The former is light and features frosting and lemon zest, while the latter is rich with a blend of intense chocolates, making both incredibly addictive and mature in taste.

The reservation-only ‘30-Ounce Prime Grade American Bone-in Sirloin Double Sharing Plate + Two French Mashed Potato & Sous-vide Egg Salads’ looks incredibly generous. For the average man, two people would be about full, while women might need three or four to finish it. Priced at NT$2400, it excludes alcohol and doesn’t charge extra service fees.

Their French mashed potato and sous-vide egg salad might be the best potato salad I’ve had recently. The warm mashed potatoes are smooth, rich, and extremely generous in portion, and even more flavorful when paired with the sous-vide egg. The surrounding greens add a refreshing touch. It would be great if served with some toasted bread spreads as well.

The 30-ounce Prime Grade American bone-in sirloin looks delicious. The chef prepares it by searing then roasting the steak to about medium-rare, letting it rest for seven minutes before plating, served with fleur de sel and homemade red wine sauce.

In terms of taste, the steak's doneness is acceptable to most, though Wisely personally would prefer it a bit rarer and more tender. The meat quality is excellent, and the cooking method is standard, making even the plain version satisfying.
But the highlight is the red wine sauce—its slightly acidic, wine-aromatic flavor is unforgettable, and it’s also great for dipping the steak or adding to extra burgers...

For those with big appetites or a group of four women ordering this steak, Wisely suggests adding their signature all-beef cheeseburger. The bun is brushed with duck fat, adding extra flavor. The patty is juicy and delicious, layered with cheese, tomato, and onion—very filling.
After the meal, chatting with the head chef, I found out he’s quite young and self-taught in this industry. One would imagine he must have a great palate and a sensitive touch for cooking. So far, the service and dishes have received good reviews, no wonder they’ve built a loyal customer base who frequently dine here.
