The popular pancake shop “Moena Cafe” from Hawaii has taken Tokyo by storm, drawing large crowds of eager diners every day. Even many Taiwanese tourists make special trips to try it, and it has been hailed by Japanese media as the top pancake spot in Hawaii. Now, its first Taiwan branch opened on July 20th in Taipei’s East District, and many are already eager to taste this authentic Hawaiian cuisine.

Since 2014, Moena Cafe has ranked No. 1 in the “Honolulu Magazine” readers’ poll for brunch in Hawaii for three consecutive years. Its signature “Happy Strawberry Whipped Cream Pancake” features a thick layer of fresh strawberry whipped cream spread over a freshly cooked pancake, topped with roasted crushed pistachios—its soft and fluffy texture has won over many taste buds. Another hit dish is the “Banana Whipped Cream Pancake,” nicknamed the “Swirl Pancake” due to its circular layers of special whipped cream.
