The Sixty Stone Mountain Golden Needle Flower Season in Hualien takes place from August 5 to September 19. This year, unaffected by typhoons, the golden needle flowers have bloomed as expected on the mountaintops of Sixty Stone Mountain in Fuli Township. The sweeping seas of golden blossoms form a shimmering golden-yellow floral carpet, and the majestic landscape of the hills and fields creates an unforgettable sight for visitors.

Hualien’s Chihke Mountain in Yuli Town and Sixty Stone Mountain in Fuli Township are Taiwan’s two major high-mountain golden needle producing areas. The 46-day Sixty Stone Mountain Golden Needle Flower Season not only allows visitors to climb to vantage points to admire the flower-filled mountain vistas, but also features a photography competition to let more people enjoy the beauty of the golden flower seas.

To make flower viewing more convenient for visitors, the Fuli Township Farmers’ Association has organized special shuttle buses that take tourists around the flower fields of Sixty Stone Mountain, along with distributing locally distinctive souvenirs. In addition, to support the event, the association has set up a parking lot at the foot of the mountain to ensure smooth traffic flow for flower enthusiasts.
