Although strong winds prevented the balloons from taking off fully, leaving them “standing upright,” the scene still earned applause from attendees. Ms. Yang from Taoyuan said that although she didn’t get to ride a hot air balloon and enjoy the mountain and sea views of Xiangshan as hoped, witnessing the balloons standing tall and sliding down the longest terrazzo slide in northern Taiwan, reliving childhood memories, was “absolutely thrilling!”
New Taipei City’s “Slide, Hot Air Balloon, Summer Vacation at Qingqing Grassland” event closed joyfully under the sunset of Xiangshan, attracting over 70,000 visitors in just two days. Despite daytime temperatures exceeding 30°C, people of all ages still lined up to experience the thrill of “leaving the Earth’s surface.” Qingqing Grassland has become a new highlight for Xiangshan tourism, and with many recent tourism attractions in New Taipei City, it has drawn numerous visitors.
