McDonald’s launches new products to create buzz and attract customers, especially in Japan where the brand is particularly inventive. The McSWEETS series is McDonald’s dessert line in Japan, featuring desserts, drinks, and cakes—all of which consistently offer fresh experiences to consumers. The 2016 autumn release, a milkshake in the flavor of Morinaga Milk Caramel, was dubbed a “century collaboration.”

This product launched on September 21 as a limited-time offering. During the sales period, customers who presented an empty Morinaga Milk Caramel box could enjoy a large milkshake at a discounted price of 50 Japanese yen (original price: 200 yen for a large size), while the small size was priced at 120 yen.
