Shilang diving area in Green Island, Taitung County, is an international-level diving destination. Among its highlights is the giant coral nicknamed the "Big Mushroom Coral of Green Island," the world’s largest pore coral with a history of over 1,000 years. It collapsed after being hit by Typhoon Meranti, leaving local divers saddened. Many diving enthusiasts expressed deep regret upon hearing the news.

The "Big Mushroom Coral" is located at a depth of 18 meters. The area where it collapsed consists of the same type of coral. Local residents and related authorities actively worked on rescue efforts and tried to right the coral as much as possible, hoping it could continue to grow. After Typhoon Meranti, Typhoon Megi followed closely. Local divers took great care to stabilize it with iron bars to prevent further severe damage from the next typhoon.
