Organized by Rakuten Travel’s hotel booking platform, the “Rakuten Travel Breakfast Festival” has entered its seventh edition. Based on votes from Japanese netizens and guest reviews, the first round selected the top breakfast from each of Japan’s 47 prefectures out of 1,500 entries.

To compete for the ultimate championship, chefs showcased their creativity, breaking conventional breakfast norms—not only with luxurious ingredients but also with flavors ranging from authentic Japanese to fusion styles. Following the second phase of tasting evaluations, the 2016 Japan Champion Breakfast will be selected in the year-end finals.
