Tokyo has a new shopping paradise again. Located near the cherry blossom hotspot of Meguro River, "Nakameguro Underpass" will gather 14 new-style shops and restaurants, along with 2 of the most talked-about first-time openings in the Kanto region and the most popular group of stores. It is set to open on November 22, 2016, in the space under the elevated tracks right next to Nakameguro Station. By then, 28 stylish shops and dining spots will be open to the public, covering about 700 meters under the elevated tracks around Nakameguro Station.

The bookstore loved by literary youth, "Tsutaya Bookstore," will also open a new branch here. Its business hours are quite friendly, from 7 AM to midnight, 365 days a year.

"Nakameguro Underpass" is a collaborative project between Tokyu Corporation and Tokyo Metro Co., Ltd., which makes full use of the idle space beneath the railway viaduct. The long-neglected 700-meter stretch has been smartly transformed into a fashionable landscape around Nakameguro.
