For the 2016 Afternoon Tea Christmas, themed “Loving Holiday,” LIVING introduces “Paris Impressions” and “Paris Christmas Night” decorations and tableware using elements like the Eiffel Tower and national flag colors. TEAROOM designs main courses, cakes, afternoon tea sets, and beverages based on traditional French Christmas foods and cooking methods, offering a variety of choices from full meals to afternoon tea for festive gatherings.

The Afternoon Tea store at Taipei’s Uni-President Department Store has been transformed into a “Gift Shop,” featuring five dedicated zones: Wedding gifts for newlyweds, Baby products for newborns, Made in Japan carefully selected Japanese items, New Life for new lifestyle needs, and Festival Recommendations. Additionally, they have newly developed exclusive packaging paper and box services to meet gifting needs for Christmas and New Year celebrations.

Afternoon Tea stated that France hosts one of Europe’s oldest Christmas markets, and the romantic ambiance of the Eiffel Tower is also a beloved attraction among many Taiwanese. To bring the lively festive atmosphere of the market to the public, France was chosen as this year’s theme. A Japanese design team was specially commissioned to recreate Parisian-style tableware exclusively for Taiwan. Observations from last year’s sales show that LED lights, snow globe ornaments, and hanging decorations were the most popular festive items.

This year’s new products feature the cute hand-drawn elements of Japanese illustrator Chico. The elegant and stylish patterns of Chico’s hand-drawn Christmas trees and wreaths are used for Christmas ornaments, LED decorations, and displays, aligning with the “2016 Love · Sharing” Christmas campaign. In addition to special in-store promotional events, workshops offering Christmas-themed decoration and cooking classes are launched to amplify the festive spirit.

Afternoon Tea TEAROOM offers a variety of options from full meals to afternoon tea. The Paris-style smoked duck quiche platter is especially recommended. The buckwheat flour-infused quiche is crispy with a unique aroma, enhanced by the French technique of beurre noisette (caramelized brown butter), giving the pastry a hazelnut-like fragrance. It is filled with a rich assortment of ingredients including baked potatoes, soft-boiled eggs, and smoked duck—offering an authentic taste of a French Christmas.
